Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Office of Faculty & Staff Affairs at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.Reports directly to the Senior Associate Dean of Faculty and Staff Affairs and is responsible for managing all functions related to new staff onboarding, training and mentoring. Assist in faculty affairs actions and activities, as needed.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Functions as the staff navigator for RWJMS ensuring that all new employees are prepared for their first day as a RWJMS employee.
  • Responsible for coordinating new employee orientation and other trainings sponsored by the Office of Faculty and Staff Affairs.
  • Supports the coordination of administrative and analytical services for the Office of Faculty and Staff Affairs.
  • Responsible for the exit interview program and the analysis of the data for presentations to senior leadership.
  • Responsible for the oversight of the peer mentoring program and review of program evaluations.
  • Coordinates with Senior Associate Dean the review of staff engagement survey results and the tracking of departmental plans and activities for improvement.
  • Manages and tracks implicit bias and DEI training initiatives.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Office of Faculty and Staff Affairs and University Human Resources.

Work Arrangement
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree plus three (3) years of related managerial/administrative experience in a university or healthcare organization.
  • Experience in working with department chairs, faculty, and administration is essential.
  • Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong verbal, written and database skills.
  • Outstanding human relations and leadership skills and the ability to function in a team environment.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft software (Excel, Powerpoint, Viso and Access Database).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of how to accomplish superior performance in a unionized environment.
  • Prior experience in human resources.

  • Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Ability to lift or exert force up to 25 lbs.
